Yesterday, the nominations for the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards (aka Razzie Awards) were unveiled which "honors" the films that are considered to be the worst in the year 2023.
The critically-maligned action sequel Expend4bles led the list with seven nominations including Worst Picture and acting nods for Sylvester Stallone and Megan Fox.
Two horror films that were notably recognized are The Exorcist: Believer and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey which were both panned by the critics and each received a Worst Picture nomination as well.

Ant-Man 3 and Shazam 2 Nab Multiple Razzie Awards Nominations
Two major comic book movies from last year were also recognized in this year's Razzie Awards nominations list as the MCU's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and DCEU's Shazam! Fury of the Gods received multiple nods.
This marked the first time that an MCU film was recognized in the awards show's history. The polarizing threequel received nominations in Worst Director for Peyton Reed, Worst Supporting Actor for Michael Douglas and Bill Murray, and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel.
The DCEU sequel was able to receive a Worst Picture nomination and acting nods for Helen Mirren (Worst Actress) and Lucy Liu (Worst Supporting Actress). It also nabbed a Worst Screenplay nomination.
Considering that the year 2023 was a rough time for comic book movies where several releases ended up becoming either huge box office disappointments or panned by the critics, it is inevitable that there are films in the genre that will be recognized here.
It is hard to tell right now whether their recognitions mean anything for either franchise, but it is a wake-up call for them to make sure that their upcoming films will be of great quality and avoid getting nominations like this.
Now, it's interesting to see whether the aforementioned comic book movies will end up becoming "winners" or they'll award the other critically panned films instead.
The winners of the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards will be announced on March 9, the day before the Oscars ceremony.
