Aside from being critically acclaimed, he also brought home several awards for this series. Rami Malek is also a voice actor, lending his voice to the character of Flip McVicker in BoJack Horseman.

Fans may also remember him as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum and its sequels. In case fans don’t notice, he’s also in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 as the Egyptian vampire Benjamin.

The rising star did a slew of movies and TV series from one project to another. He started to do more prominent roles in 2013, like Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Oldboy, Short Term 12, Need for Speed and more.

Come 2018, his biggest breakthrough happened when he played the role of Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

His latest film credits are Dolittle, The Little Things and the James Bond movie No Time to Die.

Rami Malek to His Role as Freddie Mercury

In 2016, it was confirmed that Rami Malek would play the role of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. At the time, the names of Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Whishaw were linked to taking the role.

So, he thought it was only a joke when someone told him he would do the film. To perfectly play the Queen’s iconic lead singer on the big screen, the band’s members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, spent time with him to talk about the flamboyant late singer.

They also told him stories and gave some tips about one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music.

"It was a beautiful thing to get it from them in person and see how much they cared for him," he told Rolling Stone, via Smooth Radio.

He also worked with a movement coach to perfectly imitate Freddie Mercury’s dance moves and mannerisms. He also had a dialogue coach to copy his accent and donned prosthetic teeth to emulate his overbite.

"If you watch an interview with him you see how often he's trying to cover up his teeth with his lips or his hand," he said.

To perfectly embody his role, he also read all books about Queen he could find and watched every interview and documentary featuring Freddie Mercury.

With his hard work, it’s no surprise that Rami Malek is now worth $20 million.
