Quentin Tarantino’s Favorite Young Actor is Star Trek’s Chris Pine

Just recently Tarantino opened up about Star Trek, and he's said that he might not be taking on the helm of the movie after all. What's interesting though is the legendary director has opened up about one of his favorite actors working today—Trek's very own Chris Pine.

Talking during the Rewatchables Podcast (via IndieWire), Tarantino opens up, "I think one of the things that's exciting about the movie is I am a huge Chris Pine fan… Now, to me, of the actors of his age, he's hands down my favorite — of that group, of that era, of those guys. Hands down, my favorite. When I saw him in the ‘Star Trek' movie as Captain Kirk I thought he was making this movie. I mean I'm all aboard."

Pine has certainly had a colorful career, and Trek was one of his breakout roles. What's interesting is that, when Pine took on the role of Kirk, he based his performance, not on William Shatner's Kirk, but rather on other devil-may-care heroes like Han Solo, Indiana Jones, and Tom Cruise's Maverick from Top Gun.

Though Tarantino may not be directing a Trek film anytime soon, he is still very open to working with Pine in the future. He says, "I'm the biggest fan of him so if I had the right part, I would… I'd like to." Let's hope Pine is open to collaboration as well.

As of now, there has been no official announcement for Star Trek 4.
