Quentin Tarantino Says He's 'Steering Away' from Star Trek

Having been attached to a Star Trek movie for quite a while now, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is sticking with his plans to retire after directing ten films. And since Hollywood is the ninth one in his list, is it possible that the last movie would be the Star Trek idea he pitched to Paramount?

In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound, the director made a surprising statement when asked if Star Trek would be a part of the 10-film plan. "I think I'm steering away from Star Trek," Tarantino said. However, he pointed out that he didn't have any official conversation "with those guys" about it yet.

"In a strange way, it seems like this movie, Hollywood, would be my last," he continued. And because of this, Tarantino says he has "taken the pressure off" himself to make a last "big voila kind of statement." He admitted that at some point, he had moments when he was writing where he asks himself if he should do it now, or if he should do something else, or if it would actually be his 10th movie. "If the Earth is saying do it, do it," he added.

"No, I know nothing!" he said when asked if he has a particular genre that he's "starving for." "I'll tell you in a second, not what it's going to be, but why I don't know," he added. But towards the end of answering this question, he admitted that he sees himself, doing his 10th movie that will "probably" be a "little smaller."

"Yeah, yeah, like the epilogue, you know, an author's note," Tarantino said. He might "come up" with a "really big idea," however, he admitted that it's "appealing" to him to have a "smaller audience almost all the way around."

Well, it seems like Tarantino is adamant about "steering away" from Star Trek, regardless, no matter what he decides to do in the future, it will surely be as amazing as his previous works.
