Queen Elizabeth will only be accompanied by a few royals on the balcony during the Trooping the Colour. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be among the royals who will be at the Queen's side, and it was allegedly their decision.

Queen Elizabeth Allegedly Told That Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Never Wanted To Make A Balcony Appearance

The Queen announced two weeks ago that not all royals would make a balcony appearance on Trooping the Colour next month. She decided to limit her royal companion to those who are still serving the monarch, making Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew unqualified. Some deemed the move a snub to the Sussexes and Duke of York.

However, an unnamed friend of the pair said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "never wanted to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the Queen for her Platinum Jubilee celebration," Daily Mail reported.

Omid Scobie, the co-author of Finding Freedom, claimed in an article for Yahoo! News that the Sussexes absence should not be a surprise, and it was not as dramatic as how some people made it to appear.

"Prince Harry had already spoken with his grandmother about the possibility of not attending Trooping the Colour long before last week's announcements," Scobie wrote. "I’m told by a source that the Duke of Sussex had actually expressed some time ago that he and Meghan were very keen to be a part of the Jubilee engagements, including the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, but less so for the formal balcony moment, which was felt on both sides to be more appropriate for their lives prior to stepping back."

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Will Join Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Celebration

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who visited the Queen last month before heading to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, already confirmed their attendance at the Platinum Jubilee celebration.

"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children," the Sussexes' spokesperson told Harper's Bazaar.

Shortly after they confirmed their presence, the palace announced who wouldl join the Queen on the balcony for Trooping the Colour. Some royal fans would love to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle but do not want to see Prince Andrew. So, the Queen decided to limit her balcony companion to working royals.

"After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that this year's traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd of June will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the Royal Family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen," a Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement, People reported.
