Princess Anne is one of the royals who strictly follow the protocol. According to a royal expert, she might wonder about seeing her son-in-law on a British reality show.

How Would Princess Anne React To Mike Tindall's Reality Show Stint?

Vanity Fair royal correspondent and editor Katie Nicholl spoke about Mike Tindall's appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! According to her, royal experts spent so much time "discussing [Prince] Harry and his commercial deals," and Mike's appearance on the reality TV is "no different," Express reported.

However, discussing his mother-in-law Princess Anne's potential reaction, she felt that it's unlikely she would support her son-in-law.

"She's the most no-nonsense woman you could imagine," Nicholl explained. "The idea that she'll be sitting, cheering Mike on or voting for him, [is] absolutely unthinkable."

He added that Princess Anne would more than likely think, "what is he doing." She added that it's the "thoughts of most" of the senior members of the royal family.

Mike is married to Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall. They share three children Mia, 8, Lena, 4, and Lucas, 1.

Mike Tindall's Reality TV Stint A Sign Of King Charles' Plan To Slim Down The Monarchy?

Aside from Princess Anne and the other senior royals' potential reaction to Mike Tindall's TV appearance, Nicholl talked about his decision to join the show. The New Royals author claimed that his entrance to the jungle "really crystallises" King Charles' "argument and vision," which is to focus on the "top tier royalty."

The senior royals were seemingly sending the same message even when Queen Elizabeth was still alive. According to Princess Diana's biographer, Andrew Morton, Princess Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties after Buckingham Palace released a picture featuring Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, Prince William and Prince George in 2020.

The sight reportedly convinced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that the monarchy would survive without them, so they moved on and decided to make their own paths.

"The royal couple suspected that the entire institution was conspiring against them. As they saw it, the evidence was all around them," Morton wrote in his book Meghan: A Hollywood PrincessThe Sun reported. "The unspoken code was straightforward: the future of the monarchy was assured, with or without Meghan and Harry."
