Prince Harry and Prince William reportedly had a physical fight in 2019. The Duke of Sussex shared the details in his book Spare and explained in an interview why he didn't hit back at his big brother.
Why Prince Harry Didn't Hit Back At Prince William During 2019 Altercation
Meghan Markle's husband shared an altercation between him and his sibling in his book. According to him, the future king attacked him and urged him to fight back, but he didn't do it because it would only make the heir to the throne feel better, not him.
We "fight all the time like a lot of siblings," Prince Harry said in his ITV interview with Tom Bradby about him and Prince William, Entertainment Tonight reported.
"I can pretty much guarantee today, that if I wasn't doing therapy sessions like I was and being able to process that anger and frustration, that I would've fought back, one hundred percent."
In an excerpt from his book, the Prince of Wales reportedly told Prince Harry, "Come on, hit me, you'll feel better if you hit me…Come on, we always used to fight, you'll feel better if you hit me."
"No, only you'll feel better if I hit you. Please, just leave," Prince Harry reportedly said in response to his brother.
Prince Harry Detailed The Alleged Attack In His Book Spare
According to King Charles' youngest son, Prince William visited his and Meghan Markle's home, and they got into an argument after the future king reportedly called his wife Meghan Markle "difficult," "rude", and "abrasive," The Guardian reported.
He claimed that Prince William only repeated the press' narrative about Markle, and the Prince of Wales told him he only wanted to help.
"Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?" Prince Harry reportedly told his brother, which allegedly angered William. Kate Middleton's husband reportedly swore while walking toward him.
Prince Harry said he went into the kitchen and gave his brother a glass of water, telling him, "Willy, I can't speak to you when you're like this."
Prince Harry claimed that his big brother set down the water, called him another name and then "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and ... knocked me to the floor."
"I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."
Prince William Was Reportedly Coming For Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Claims
In an interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, Prince Harry talked about the altercation. He claimed that his brother visited them at Nottingham Cottage after hearing issues about Markle that were not based on "reality."
"It was a buildup of — frustration, I think, on his part," Prince Harry told Anderson, People reported.

"It was at a time where he was being told certain things by people within his office. And at the same time, he was consuming a lot of the tabloid press, a lot of the stories. And he had a few issues which were based not on reality. And I was defending my wife. And he was coming for my wife — she wasn't there at the time but through the things that he was saying. I was defending myself."
Prince Harry said he was left with marks on his back after he landed on the dog's bowl and it got broken. However, Prince William later apologized.
