Prince William and Kate Middleton visited some countries in the Caribbean earlier this year. However, at one point, the Duke of Cambridge was furious because of how things went.

Prince William Reportedly Furious When They Were Ridiculed During Caribbean Tour

In March, Prince William and Kate Middleton kicked off their Caribbean tour and visited Jamaica, Belize and the Bahamas. The trip was part of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebration.

According to royal biographer Ingrid Seward the Caribbean tour wasn't as organized as Prince William hoped for. So, the second in line to the throne was upset. He "wants things to run smoothly," but it didn't happen.

"When he and Kate were ridiculed during their Caribbean tour last March, he was understandably furious," Seward told Mirror. "As far as he was concerned someone should have read the current mood of the country and acted upon it long before the schedule was arranged."

Seward explained that Prince William was as intuitive as his late mom Princess Diana. The future king longed for "emotional security." The royal expert believed there were times he wanted to break away from the restrictions imposed upon him, but his "sense of responsibility prevented him from doing so."

Thanks to his wife, Kate Middleton, he found emotional security in their marriage and family.

Prince William And Kate Middleton's Caribbean Tour Hiccups

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge faced several challenges when they did their Caribbean tour a few months ago. First, the Belize villagers staged a protest at their supposed first stop. The locals protested about indigenous rights and colonialism.

The royal couple was also criticized over pictures of them in Jamaica greeting and shaking hands with children who had been watching the duke take part in a soccer match through a wire fence.

Many were also furious after seeing them in the back of a Land Rover during a military parade in a nod to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's previous visit decades ago.

According to some sources, Jamaica reportedly wanted to be free from the Commonwealth, and the sight of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge seemingly repeating the Queen's visit instead of moving forward didn't sit well with many.

To be fair, Simon Perry, People's chief foreign correspondent who has covered several of the couple's tours over the years, said the Cambridges looked uncomfortable during the ride. Perry said it was the Jamaican military who requested the royal couple to do the ride from the ceremony standing in the Land Rover.

Perry said that despite the backlash during the tour, there was a visible joy from the people who met the future king and queen consort.
