Despite being at odds with his brother, Prince William, Prince Harry has always been fond of his nephews and niece, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

When they were born, Prince Harry no longer cared about his place in the order of succession to the British throne.

Welcoming Prince Harry's First Nephew, Prince George

In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex wrote that the Waleses' firstborn was "beautiful" when he was born in 2013. He even expressed his excitement about having his first nephew.

"I couldn't wait to teach him about rugby and [The Battle of] Rorke's Drift, flying and corridor cricket—and maybe give him a few pointers about how to survive life in the fishbowl," he continued.

He also gushed about Prince George's birth in an interview with BBC in 2013.

"[It's] fantastic to have another addition to the family," he said. "[My goal as an uncle is] to make sure he has a good upbringing, and keep him out of harm's way and to make sure he has fun. The rest I'll leave to the parents."

Prince William's kids became three following the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2018.

"I was delighted for Willy and Kate, and I was indifferent to my place in the order of succession," Meghan Markle's husband added.

He reportedly gifted Prince Louis a special edition Winnie-the-Pooh book worth $10,000 for his christening.

However, Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed Prince Harry spent less time with the Cornwalls' youngest child than Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as the tension between him and Prince William was already growing at the time.

His bond with the three kids eventually "hit a snag" after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their senior royal roles and moved to the U.S.

A source even told Us Weekly in May 2022 that the military veteran missed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis "very much."

Despite having a strained relationship with the Prince of Wales, Prince Harry still can't help but worry about Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis' future as members of the royal family.

"As I know full well — within my family — if it's not [me and my brother], it's going to be someone else," he told The Telegraph. "And though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the 'spare.'"
