Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth, has been avoiding the limelight for quite some time now, following his departure from royal duties in November 2019 in the wake of a scandal over his relationship with convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein. The brother of Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward even skipped the traditional mid-morning walk to church and attending an earlier service with other members of the royal family last Christmas.
British media claimed that Prince Andrew had made a personal decision to miss the Christmas tradition. Nigel Cawthorne told Express UK that Prince Andrew does not agree with the alleged plans of Prince Charles and Prince William to trim down the royal family once they inherit the throne from Queen Elizabeth. Her Majesty has reportedly been slowing down due to her advanced age and her heirs are allegedly getting ready should the monarch decides to step down and let them take over.

Nigel Cawthorne said Prince Andrew wants Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to retain the privileges and protections that accompany their royal titles. Because of this, he totally disagrees with Prince Charles and Prince William in slimming down the monarchy.

Most, if not all, royal fans are aware that the relationship between Prince Andrew and Prince Charles was strained when the Prince of Wales announced that he would pursue a more streamlined model of the monarchy. In July 2021, royal expert Katie Nicholls stated:
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice currently hold full-time positions outside their work for the Royal Family. Prince Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, had been reportedly adamant that their daughters received the HRH title.
However, Princess Anne, sister of Prince Andrew, did not reach the same decision. The Princess Royal did not adopt the HRH title on her children – Peter Philips and Zara Tindall.
