Marvel's Outlawed event is affecting teenage superheroes everywhere, from The Champions to The New Warriors and it looks like even some of the youngest heroes will be affected as well. It was announced that a new Power Pack mini-series will be coming out in April, dealing with the effects of Outlawed like the other titles. This is also the first Power Pack series in years, not counting the excellent run of various mini-series' with art from Gurihiru.
Revealed by ComicBook.com, the series will be written by Unbeatable Squirrel Girl writer Ryan North and drawn by Spider-Man artist Nico Leon. That's a pretty talented team and it's going to be fun seeing what these teenage heroes will be doing now that their status quo is in question. We'll just have to wait and see but it should be an interesting five issues.
Here's a synopsis for the first issue:
Power Pack is back! Katie, Julie, Jack and Alex Power have been super-heroing since they were learning to tie their own shoes. It's been ages since they fought side by side as a family, but a special occasion ā and an old grudge ā is about to put the gang back together. There's just one teeny tiny hiccup: a brandānew law restricting underage super heroes! But surely, if the fate of all New York City is at stake, the powers that be will make an exception? Keep your fingers crossed as the Power siblings fight for their right to save the world!
Considering how long it's been since we've seen Power Pack and rumors that we might see an MCU film of them in the future, this new series is exciting for a number of reasons. Hopefully, we see the Outlawed event give Power Pack some life so that they can get an ongoing in the near future.
Power Pack #1 will be coming out this April.
