Pokemon Sword & Shield Will Have Version Exclusive Gym Leaders

In a move that's going to surprise a lot of fans, The Pokemon Company revealed that the two upcoming games for Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Sword & Shield, will have version exclusive gym leaders. This is a series first since previous games have only ever had version exclusive Pokemon; maybe an area or two as well. Fans better stay tuned so they can know which game to get.

Bea, the Fighting-type gym leader, and second-best waifu, will be exclusive to Pokemon Sword. Allister, who is designed like a little girl but is probably a pretty boy, can only be fought in Pokemon Shield. Those looking for waifus will probably skip Shield and immediately go for Sword, despite the fact that the former has a much better legendary. Fight me.

After this, fans are probably curious about future announcements that might have more exclusive gym leaders and, of course, Pokemon. Game Freak will probably make more similar announcements in the coming months, hopefully focusing on more gameplay and story. We're still wondering if the game has a main villain/evil organization, which are typical Pokemon staples.

Only time will tell if Pokemon Sword & Shield live up to the franchise's reputation, with some salty fans still angry over the lack of a national Pokedex. Seeing as how Tyranitar and Mimikyu were confirmed in the latest trailer, it's clear that we're going to get a lot of familiar Pokemon in these games.

Pokemon Sword & Shield are coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 15.
