Petition To Resurrect Iron Man Gaining Traction Online

There's a petition going around calling for the return of Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, and it looks like the petition is gaining a whole lot of traction online.

In the ultimate act of self-sacrifice, Tony Stark decided to steal all of the Infinity Stones from Thanos, using the power of the gems to turn the Mad Titan and his army into dust in the final act of Avengers: Endgame. Tony Stark's death caused so much heartbreak – the success of Iron Man sparked the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While we're pretty certain that Marvel won't dare undo a death as significant as Tony's, fans have been petitioning for the character's return.

Right now, the petition "Bring Tony Stark Back to Life" on Change.org is heading towards 50,000 signatures. The petition was started by a Marvel fan Meline Loiseu. Here's the objective of the petition:

"MCU's Tony deserves to come back fully alive. Tony Stark was always ready to risk his life, suffer, and sacrifice himself for anyone, without ever receiving anything in return. Since the beginning, since he was a kid. He can never be happy, and when he finally got what he always wanted, and deserved, his wife, his daughter, his family.. he died. He didn't deserve this and it's not fair, after everything he's been through, and done for everyone, he deserves to live and see his daughter grow up."

The petition is moving rather slowly considering the fact that it began a month ago, so it seems like fans aren't too eager to resurrect Iron Man. Bringing Tony back from the dead will just diminish the sacrifice that the hero made in Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
