Ever since Amber Heard's personal issues with ex-husband Johnny Depp were made public, fans of the DC Extended Universe have been dying to see the Aquaman star's firing from the franchise. However, despite the obvious pressure from the fandom as well as human rights advocates, Warner Bros. made it clear that the controversial actress isn't going anywhere.

In fact, Heard is still slated to appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom but rumor has it that her role in the DCEU sequel has been reduced in light of the recent controversies she's been facing.

With Amber's DCEU future seemingly coming to an end, Depp's supporters continue to push for the 36-year-old's ousting from the DC universe. Heard has constantly been a hot topic on social media and while there are people throwing support her way, it can't be denied that a good majority of people denounce her innocence.

Now, the online petition demanding her removal from Aquaman 2 is once again blowing up. First receiving widespread attention in 2020, the Change.org petition continues to gain traction as the defamation case the Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed against the actress rolls on.

As it stands, the "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" petition has crossed 4.2 million signatures and is now eyeing the 4.5 million mark.

As astonishing as the movement is, I don't think the online petition against Amber will play a major factor in her DCEU future. Obviously, the result of her ongoing trial with Depp will be the deciding factor and just like everyone else, I'm hoping the truth will finally prevail.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's theatrical release has been rescheduled to March 17, 2023.
