Petition Calling for Amber Heard’s DCEU Removal Now Eyeing 3 Million Signatures

Amber Heard continues to be the talk of the town as the defamation case her ex-spouse Johnny Depp filed against her continues to roll on. The highly-publicized court case has seen a back-and-forth clash between both camps and as it stands, it's still a little hard to tell which one of them comes out victorious in the end.

Most fans, on the other hand, are siding with the Pirates of the Caribbean star and they will stop at nothing until the actor gets the justice they believe he rightfully deserves. As for Heard, the negative public perception of the actress hasn't changed, and at the height of the ongoing Virginia trial, the online petition calling for her removal from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has gained new traction.

The Change.org petition which was launched a few years back has now surpassed 2 million signatures and is now targetting 3 million. Back in 2020, Amber slammed the said movement after confirming that she'll return as Mera in the DC Extended Universe.

For the longest time, it didn't seem like the petition was going anywhere, especially with Warner Bros.' evident desire to keep Heard on board. But with the whole court case seemingly favoring Depp at the moment, things aren't looking great for the actress and it could very well lead to her firing from the DC film franchise.

Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's theatrical release has been rescheduled to March 17, 2023.
