Percy Jackson Creator Rick Riordan Reveals Disney+ Reboot Episode Count


There have been a lot of awesome updates on the upcoming Percy Jackson reboot, thanks to author Rick Riordan regularly sharing details on social media. The latest news from Riordan confirms that they are still hard at work on the new Disney+ series but he also reveals the upcoming show's official episode count!

Rick Riordan has regularly been sharing updates on the Percy Jackson reboot on his social media accounts as well as his website. The latest entry on his site confirms that his team is "very close to having our primary trio of Percy, Grover and Annabeth" but they are still waiting for "necessary approvals." Additionally, Riordan confirmed that "begun the process of looking for our other actors" for roles like "Sally, Mr. D., Chiron, Luke, Clarisse, Gabe, Mrs. Dodds" and more. The author even goes out of his way to point out this isn't a spoiler since these are the same characters who appear in The Lightning Thief.

One of the awesome updates that Riordan shared was about the script for the show. "Script work is also coming along nicely. We have scripts for the first four episodes pretty much done, and are hard at work on the remaining four of season one," he wrote. Fans immediately noted that this would mean the Percy Jackson reboot will consist of eight episodes and is already set for Season 2.

For now, we have yet to learn who will be playing Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. However, Rick Riordan's latest updates could confirm that we will be getting some casting news in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
