Paul Bettany, who stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Vision is being dragged into the case after an explicit text message exchange between him and Depp resurfaced.

The said message from May 2014 was presented in court during the ongoing Virginia trial and was used as evidence against the actor. In the exchange, Depp wrote "Let's burn Amber" to which he replied: "I’m not sure we should burn Amber. She is delightful company and easy on the eye. We could of course do the English course of action and perform a drowning test. Thoughts? You have a swimming pool."

If you may recall, the said exchange first surfaced nearly a decade ago and gained widespread attention last year but not a lot of people bought into its authenticity.

Now, Bettany is finding himself in the middle of controversy following the exposé. On Twitter, fans have aired their disgust and think Bettany should also face the repercussions of the texts he sent Depp.

Meanwhile, Bettany recently teased his return to the MCU as "White Vision" which doesn't sound all that surprising considering we've yet to find out why he left Westview during WandaVision's finale episode. It'll be interesting to see though if his involvement in the Amber-Johnny case will affect his career, especially the evidence that puts him in hot water.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' next film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas on May 4th.
