Patty Jenkins Wants to Do the Amazon Spinoff Before Wonder Woman 3

Though Patty Jenkins has done a solid job with her Wonder Woman films, she had made a comment a few months back that she would like to work on a spinoff featuring the Amazons of Themyscira. With questions going around about a third WW movie, Jenkins reveals that she would actually want to work on the spinoff first before ending a trilogy.

Talking to Total Film (via Games Radar), Jenkins shares, "We're not starting to work on [Wonder Woman 3] right away… I'm hoping to do this Amazon movie before we do the third Wonder Woman. And I may not do either of them. You never know what will happen in this world, you know?

We don't know who the Amazon movie could be about, but seeing as they've existed for millennia, there are a lot of places a series could go. We could focus on the origin of the island, and how Queen Hippolyta became the ruler. Maybe they can even draw focus to the clash of the Greek gods like Zeus and Ares.

If I'm being honest, I don't really see the point of an Amazon movie without Wonder Woman, but a lot of people also didn't like the idea of a Joker spinoff, but that paid off pretty well. If Jenkins wants to push forward with it, then WB, by all means, should let her.

We don't know when an Amazon film could come out, but Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit theaters Aug. 14.
