We all know for a fact that Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot have built a solid friendship and working relationship over the last five years after working on the Wonder Woman franchise so it no longer comes as a surprise that for her supposed next directorial project — a movie about the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, Jenkins and Gadot are once again teaming up.
However, Jenkins is reportedly stepping down from the project to work on two other blockbusters — Wonder Woman 3 and her debut Star Wars film Rogue Squadron which was recently rumored to have been scrapped entirely. Despite that, Deadline notes that Patty will continue to be involved in Cleopatra in a producer-type role so she'll still get to work with Gadot in some capacity.
Cleopatra will now be directed by Kari Skogland who recently helmed Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Other than that, the key details about the controversial project have not been disclosed as of writing.
