Patty Jenkins Exits Upcoming Project with Gal Gadot to Work On Rogue Squadron

We all know for a fact that Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot have built a solid friendship and working relationship over the last five years after working on the Wonder Woman franchise so it no longer comes as a surprise that for her supposed next directorial project — a movie about the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, Jenkins and Gadot are once again teaming up.

However, Jenkins is reportedly stepping down from the project to work on two other blockbusters — Wonder Woman 3 and her debut Star Wars film Rogue Squadron which was recently rumored to have been scrapped entirely. Despite that, Deadline notes that Patty will continue to be involved in Cleopatra in a producer-type role so she'll still get to work with Gadot in some capacity.

Cleopatra will now be directed by Kari Skogland who recently helmed Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Other than that, the key details about the controversial project have not been disclosed as of writing.

As for Rogue Squadron, it's promising news for Star Wars fans, especially those who were excited and curious to see what Jenkins brings to the table. Thankfully, Jenkins and Lucasfilm were able to settle their rumored differences and the film will now be moving forward.

While Lucasfilm has yet to offer new updates regarding Rogue Squadron, the film is still expected to hit cinemas in December 2023.
