We're now a month away before Star Trek: Strange New Worlds finally premieres which will supposedly bring back the "classic Star Trek" feel as it is going to be in an episodic format instead of the serialized format that other current Star Trek shows have been adopting. The upcoming series will focus on Captain Christopher Pike's tenure in the USS Enterprise years before James T. Kirk eventually took over the captain seat.
Paramount+ has unveiled the official trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which gave us a more extended look at the upcoming series where we see Pike and the Enterprise crew navigate different planets and missions as well as a closer look at some of the familiar characters from The Original Series such as Spock and Uhura. You can check the action-packed trailer below:
One of the highlights from the trailer that fans have been talking about is Spock's kissing scene although it is still unknown which character was on the receiving end of his kiss which he agreed because it "seems logical." Based on what they've shown here, it looks like they are going to deliver their promise that it will go back to its original roots and give us different adventures in each episode as there are a lot to explore in the final frontier.
The official key art for the series was also unveiled which you can also check here:
The series will star Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La'an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M'Benga.
The premiere episode was written by Akiva Goldsman with the story by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet.
