Ozark will be returning for the fourth and final season after it was renewed in June 2020. The series has largely received a positive reception from critics and even received 32 Primetime Emmy Awards. Thus, it is understandable that it has a wide audience waiting for its return.

Here are some of the things that you need to know about Ozark Season 4.

Ozark Season 4 production has already started

The fourth season is already in the process. The cast members started filming on Nov. 9, 2020, and it will wrap up on Oct. 8, 2021.

"On set of Ozark, nearly done with the 4 episodes I'm grateful to be directing this season 1. 1 episode left after for this for the cast and crew. Going to miss everyone so so much," Ozark director Armanda Marsalis shared on Instagram.

The final season will have 14 episodes. So, at the time, the team was already done with four episodes.

Who will return in Ozark Season 4?

Jason Bateman and Laure Linney who plays Marty and Wendy Byrde will be returning in the final season since the show revolves around their operation. That means that their children Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) will also reprise their roles in Season 4.

Aside from the Byrdes, the other main characters, including Ruth (Julia Garner) and Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan), Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), and now Omar Navarro (Felix Solis), Jim Rattelsdorf (Damian Young), and Special Agent Maya Miller (Jessica Frances Dukes) are all likely to return.

Are there any new cast members in Ozark Season 4?

Yes, new actors will be joining the final season. Netflix announced in November 2020 that Alfonso Herrera, Adam Rothenberg, and will join the award-winning cast of Ozark Season 4 as series regulars.

Bruno Bicher, Katrina Lenk, CC Castillo, Eric Ladin, Bruce Davison, Veronica Falcon, and Ali Stroker will also be part of the finale.

What to expect in the final season?

The Byrde family found themselves in a tight situation once again. Marty was tortured and abducted by the drug kingpin, Omar Navarro. Wendy was forced to order a hit on her own brother Ben to save her family from being killed by the cartel.

"A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I'm excited to end with a bang(s)," Bateman said hinting about a more challenging season for the Byrdes.

Bateman has always been in the know about the show's ending. He confirmed it in a previous interview. However, he declined to share the details and only left fans with a question to ponder on.

"I was interested in the big question he [Mundy] has the opportunity to answer: Are they going to get away with it, or are they going to pay a bill? What does he want to message to the audience about the consequences of what the Byrdes have done – or lack thereof?" he said as per Indie Wire.

He also told Jimmy Fallon in December 2020 that the Byrdes' are always in danger but they always survive. They live and have never been put into jail despite their mistakes.

"We make as many mistakes as you can without being killed or incarcerated. And we've got more in store for this [season]," Bateman added.

"We do land the plane in a very satisfactory way," he said about the ending.

Based on Bateman's statement, the Byrdes will either make it out alive just like they always do or pay for their wrongdoings. They might either die or go to prison.
