Owen Wilson Teases Loki Season 2's Release Window

Marvel Studios' Phase 5 slate is currently experiencing major delays. Just recently, Disney+ made a change on its website that concerns the release timeline of the franchise’s upcoming Phase 5 projects, including Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Echo, among others. The studio’s Phase 4 was underwhelming for fans and Marvel itself given that it did not live up to expectations, so this year the franchise is expected to bounce back from all that negative feedback; however, part of Marvel’s reconstruction is reportedly "re-evaluating the future releases" of future offerings. Loki season 2, which is supposed to air this early in 2023, finally received its release window from one of its stars, Owen Wilson.

Sitting down with Entertainment Tonight, Wilson, who plays Mobius in the series, shared a brief release update about Loki Season 2. He referenced Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's post-credits, where he, alongside Loki and Jonathan Majors' Victor Timely, made their appearance. “I guess [Quantumania] has kind of a little shot of Tom Hiddleston and I and Jonathan Majors from 'Loki' season two. And I think that’s coming out at the end of the summer or September.” he said.

The second season will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, and Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15, alongside franchise newcomers, including recent Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, as they gripple in the darker places of the multiverse. Wilson also reflected on Quan joining their ensemble.

“I know. It's so exciting. That was incredible ... Every time I saw him winning something, it was another speech that just kind of was a tear-jerker that was so moving. And even when we were working on this last summer -- I think his character that he plays in Loki season two -- I think people will be excited, even though that was so great, obviously, the character that he won an Oscar for I think people are going to love his character in this.” he remarked.

Loki season 1 is available on Disney+.
