Following Season 5's tremendously eventful and emotional finale, all eyes are now on what happens next, so it's excellent news that Outlander Season 6 is now only a few weeks away from happening!

"Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in Season 6 as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World," Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht said.

Outlander Season 6 New Tease

Let's now rejoice over a fresh shot of Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser! Jamie, with a raised eyebrow, stands proudly at his homestead on Fraser's Ridge in the image below, courtesy of the show's official Twitter.

Jamie is going to have a challenging season on a number of fronts. For starters, the couple will have to deal with the emotional fallout from Claire's assault. From there, he'll have to contend with the appearance of Tom Christie, a familiar face from the past, on the Ridge, as well as the approaching threat of the Revolutionary War.

He may not know much about it, but so many of his friends and family do. Consider Claire, Roger, and Bree – they can all do whatever they can to steer history in the right direction.

Outlander Season 6 Release Date

The Droughtlander is coming to an end! Outlander Season 6 finally has a release date, which was confirmed on Nov. 22, 2021 - the first episode will air on Mar. 6, 2022.

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon made the news at the launch of the ninth novel in the series, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. However, as we've seen with the most recent season, this doesn't guarantee that forthcoming episodes will adhere strictly to the source material.

Outlander Season 6 will only include eight episodes due to the pandemic's production delays (a usual Outlander season is 12 to 13 episodes long). That's the bad news; the good news is that the season's first episode will be movie-length, clocking in at around 90 minutes. Season 7 will be significantly bigger, with 16 episodes.
