Oscars 2020: Star Trek's John Cho Got Congratulated 'A Lot' for His Work on... Parasite

Bong Joon Ho's Parasite had won big at the Oscars, and everyone is celebrating the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture. What's funny is that, during the event, Star Trek actor John Cho, who hadn't worked on the movie at all, got congratulated for the film--repeatedly.

Cho shares this on his Twitter account:

If anything, it's a funny story, and a lot of other Asian people who read the tweet are now posting about how they expect to be congratulated by their co-workers for Parasite as well. If anything, the film definitely deserved the award, and a lot of people are praising the Oscars for recognizing the movie as good enough to contend with the other English-spoken nominees.

Though Cho didn't get to work on Parasite at all, a lot of people are excited for him to star in Netflix's adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. Sure Netflix has not been the best when it comes to anime adaptations, but you have to give them props for trying. Hopefully, this new series with Cho will give us a new generation of Space Cowboy lovers; and if this one turns out well, the same studio is going to be working on the live-action One Piece series.

The space Western story follows Spike Spiegel and his rag-tag crew of bounty hunters, or Cowboys, as they try to capture the galaxy's worst criminals and survive the unexpected dangers they encounter throughout space, sometimes saving the world in the process but always leaving millions in damages.

No release date has been set for Netflix's Cowboy Bebop.
