After months of waiting, Moon Knight finally premiered last Wednesday on the streaming service Disney+. Viewers met Steven Grant, a gift shop employee with a disassociative disorder while trying to outrun Egyptian god Khonshu's control. Alongside Grant, viewers also got a glimpse of Grant's other mercenary persona, Marc Spector.

Before the highly-anticipated series launched on Disney+, Isaac teased that the series is the "first legitimate character-study" since 2008's Iron Man, featuring the MCU veteran who is behind the MCU's triumph throughout the years.

In an interview with Extra TV, Moon Knight lead star Oscar Isaac sat down to discuss his MCU debut and the advice that Robert Downey Jr. gave to him.

When asked if he reached out to any Marvel stars before joining the MCU, Isaac responded, "I did talk to Robert Downey Jr. quite a bit. I talked to him a lot. I mean, he’s a friend already, and so just talking to him about it and just what his sense of it is and how his process has been and he was such a great great person to talk to, obviously about the whole thing. And also for me, the biggest inspiration, because to this day, still, that first Iron Man movie is just so good."

Isaac then revealed Downey's advice for him, "I think the thing is he really said that Kevin Feige is a genius and he’s a collaborator, and so don’t be afraid to come in and give your ideas and give your thoughts and to be bold with your choices."

Going to Robert Downey Jr. for advice certainly boosts Isaac's excitement to join the MCU. Downey is the man behind MCU's success and we are all aware that Tony Stark instituted the MCU. Now that Iron Man is retired and some other fan-favored character steps out from their role after the Infinity Saga, it's the perfect time to introduce new MCU characters into the franchise.

While Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange is the current anchor of the MCU, Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight might play a prominent role in the future after its debut. Moon Knight can either join the Avengers or even a new group of heroes like the Midnight Sons.

Moon Knight episode 1 is now streaming on Disney+.
