Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose is a new anime series produced by Doga Kobo based on the Japanese light novel where Shūichi Nimaru is the writer and Ui Shigure is the illustrator. It is published in ASCII Media Works in their Dengeki Bunko imprint since 2019 and to date, it has six volumes.
Osamake also has a manga series adaptation featuring the art of Ryō Itō which is published in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive. It has been in circulation since 2019 and it has two tankōbon volumes so far.
Osamake follows the story of Sueharu Maru, a high school student who never had a girlfriend since birth. His next-door neighbor, Kuroha Shida, is a friendly, outgoing, and cute onee-san type of girl. Kuroha is brave, she confessed to Sueharu that she likes him but he rejected her as he only had eyes for one girl, Shirokusa Kachi.
Shirokusa is an idol and an award-winning author in school, she treats Sueharu differently from other guys in school which is why he feels like he has a chance on her. The only problem there for Sueharu is that Shirokusa has a boyfriend. Kuroha grabbed this chance and offered Sueharu a vengeance plot against Shirokusa and her boyfriend.
