Netflix's One Piece BTS Photo Shows The Arrival of Zoro on Set


Netflix's live-action One Piece is currently in production in Cape Town Film Studios in South Africa, and a new set photo has officially welcomed its own Roronoa Zoro (played by Mackenyu. The series is confirmed to adapt the East Blue Saga of Eiichiro Oda's popular shonen manga series, and filming continues as the cast and crew have each celebrated the beginning of the show's production.

It looks like Mackenyu is ready to play the combatant of the Straw Hat Pirates in the live-action series as he has made his way to the set. To celebrate the start of his work, the actor took it to Instagram to share a photo of his chair.

Starring next to Mackenyu, Iñaki Godoy will play Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz and Taz Skylar as Sanji, and they are all initial members of the Straw Hat crew.

Steven Maeda serves as the One Piece's showrunner/producer/writer , and Matt Owens will serve as executive producer. Original series creator Eiichiro Oda has been heavily involved in the live-action series. Earlier this month, Maeda teased the beginning of One Piece's production by sharing a photo of cute Straw Hat keychain with the tease, "The Day of the Beginning".

The East Blue Saga of One Piece featured the formation of the Straw Hats pirates as Luffy tries to assemble a crew to help him achieve his dream of becoming the King of Pirates. After eating the Devil Fruit, Luffy is bestowed the power to make his body resemble rubber, granting him the strength to set sail across the dangerous seas and battle to become the next Pirate King.
