Many of the top-ranking members of the Beast Pirates have been defeated, leaving only Kaido and Big Mom standing. The battle at Onigashima is coming to an end soon, and the results of this battle will greatly affect the world and what's yet to come!

One Piece Chapter 1,036 Recap

Zoro lands a heavy cut on King. King has a flashback of his younger years, where Kaido is laughing because King thinks he's Joyboy. King says it's just a legend, but he might as well offer his life to Kaido and help out in making him King of the Pirates. At the same time, Zoro also has a flashback of his conversation with Luffy when Mihawk defeated him. Zoro promised then that he would never lose a battle again. To become the greatest swordsman, Zoro thinks he might as well become the king of hell. After landing another blow, Zoro defeats King.

One of the Marys sees King's defeat, which surprises one of the CP0 members. The CP0 member says there's still Big Mom and Kaido left standing, which can turn the tides of the battle. However, the narration says there are other situations to consider. If Luffy defeats Kaido, the Flame Clouds will disappear, which will cause Onigashima to crash down Wano, destroying it. There's also the flame monster, resulting in Onigashima's destruction mid-air.

Yamato reaches the armory, but a Numbers named Rokki is guarding it. Yamato tells Fuga to take the key from Rokki. Fuga crashes into Rokki, opening the door. Meanwhile, Usopp is busy fighting off members of the Beast Pirates while protecting Kinemon and Kiku. Both Kinemon and Kiku tell Usopp to take the other and leave one behind. Usopp gets mad at them since he doesn't like the samurai culture of taking responsibility through dying. He tells them about how he wants to survive, no matter what.

Izo arrives at the scene. He tells Usopp to take care of Kinemon and Kiku. On the third floor, Fukurokuju and Raizo have put a paralysis jutsu on each other. Orochi is on the second floor, enjoying Komurasaki's shamisen playing while waiting for Fukurokuju. Apoo escapes from the fight with the CP0 while Drake is defeated. The CP0 talks about how they should quickly leave the castle and catch Robin since the next few minutes will greatly affect the world. Meanwhile, Kaido and Luffy are laughing and enjoying their fight.
