More one-on-one fights with the Tobiroppo are being highlighted as the story progresses. Whose fight are we going to see next?

To recap Chapter 1,019, there was a glimpse of Sanji vs. Queen. Zoro was injected with the Minks' medicine. Luffy finally wakes up, screaming for meat.

The rest of the chapter focused on Franky vs. Sasaki—one of the Tobiroppo. After an exchange of hits and attacks, Franky defeats Sasaki with his Radical Beam. The chapter ends with Kaido and Yamato, in which the latter's hybrid form is revealed.

The chapter starts with Kaido and Yamato. Kaido mentions that Yamato's Devil Fruit is the deity protector of Wano and a Mythical Beast. Kaido tells Yamato that he wants him to continue running the country, but Yamato refuses.

The scene switches to the third floor. An illusion is placed in front of Robin—her mother, Dr. Clover, and Jaguar D. Saul. They call for her while Brook screams to warn her. Robin attacks the illusions who were pretending to be her loved ones. The illusions were actually Black Maria's subordinates, a trap set by the Tobiroppo herself.

Robin and Brook are chased down. The two have a conversation—Robin asks why Brook wasn't affected. He responds with the fact that he saw illusions in the Florian Triangle for 50 years, so this doesn't faze him. Robin is amused by their similarity; having been through a lot in their lives.

Black Maria attacks with her flaming Wanyudo, who's actually one of her subordinates. After eating the Pug SMILE, he became a human-faced dog. Black Maria burns the floor of the room, which Robin and Brook successfully avoid. Brooke uses an attack to freeze Wanyudo which pisses the Tobiroppo off.

Brook decides to take care of the other subordinates. Black Maria makes fun of Sanji for that time he got caught and screamed for help. Robin defends him, saying that Black Maria doesn't understand the meaning behind it.

The scene switches to the Tokage Port in Wano. Shinobu, Momonosuke, Luffy, and the Heart Pirates meet up. Luffy's still quite weak despite eating all of the Heart Pirates' supplies. Momonosuke continues to cry over Kinemon and Kiku. Luffy tells him to stop and think about it later since there are other matters at hand.

Caribou pops up, watching them from afar. He's worried since if Luffy loses, he can't get out of Wano.

Luffy tells Momonosuke that he has to fly up to Onigashima to bring him back there.
