One Piece Chapter 1,017 RELEASE DATE and SPOILERS

After a one-week break, fans finally get to learn more about the progression of events at Onigashima. With the upcoming chapter, everything is slowly unfolding as we learn more about how everything ties together in One Piece.

To recap, Chapter 1,016 starts with the citizens of Wano enjoying the Fire Festival. While they're celebrating, the battle at Onigashima is still ongoing. CP0 remains as surveyors of the battle, noting how the changing of sides makes the battle even more unpredictable.

Meanwhile, Nami and Usopp are shocked to see that Nami's climax-tact started talking, claiming to be Zeus. Turns out his soul has been transferred to her weapon after almost getting eaten by Hera. As Bao Huang was about to announce to everyone about Momonosuke, she gets interrupted by Nami, Usopp, and Tama passing by.

Ulti shows up, grabbing Tama. Nami gets pissed and hits her with her weapon, which can now transform into different shapes thanks to Zeus. Usopp helps out by launching an attack at Ulti, which surprises her and causes her to let go of Otama. This lets Nami use her lightning attack.

Ulti is defeated, and Bao Huang accidentally announces this to everyone. Usopp catches her so that Tama can make an announcement.

Yamato exclaims that he's going to set sail with Luffy after he takes Kaido out of Wano. Kaido says he isn't going anywhere, and Yamato should follow his orders and be the shogun. Yamato refuses and their battle begins.

Tama makes an announcement, saying that everyone who has eaten the Dango must switch sides and become allies of the samurai. Meanwhile, Luffy's been rescued.

Queen and Sanji battle. Queen switches to his hybrid form and he's apparently a cyborg. Chopper's 30-minute long rumble ball has a side effect, which for some reason makes him speak like an old man. He uses a special medicine on Zoro that will heal him in an instant.

There's also a battle between Who's Who and Jinbe. It turns out that he was a former member of CP9, who was imprisoned 12 years ago after failing to protect the Gomu Gomu no Mi. Apparently, his intelligence is at par with Rob Lucci. He's also surprised after finding out that a rookie, Luffy, ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi which he knows was stolen years ago.
