Culpo started her career in a beauty pageant, joining the Miss USA pageant in 2012. She then represented the U.S. at the 61st Miss Universe pageant, held in the same year.
She won the competition and became the eighth representative from the U.S. who bag the title and the first since Broke Lee earned the crown in 1997. She, too, was the first Rhode Islander to be a Miss Universe.
Outside of pageantry, Culpo became a social media personality. She has almost 80,000 subscribers on YouTube, 5.2 million followers on Instagram, over 225,000 followers on Twitter, and 2.2 million followers on Facebook as of this writing.
She has also become a social media influencer and partnered with several beauty brands, like L’Oreal, Kipling, and Uberliss.
With her beauty, she was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and appeared on the cover with Jasmine Sanders and Kate Bock.
She was also seen in Model Squad, The Other Woman, I Feel Pretty, Reprisal, and led Venus as a Boy.

Olivia Culpo in Her Breakup with Nick Jonas
Culpo found herself in a tough situation after breaking up with Nick Jonas in 2015. In her new reality show, The Culpo Sisters, she opened up about her financial and personal struggles after moving to L.A. during her relationship with the singer-songwriter.
“I had no brand, no money, and I was in love,” she said, per Page Six. “But when he broke up with me, I was kind of left with no sense of identity. My whole identity was in him, which is a very common story of a young person in love.”
At the time, he couldn’t pay her rent or buy her groceries.
“It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up,” she continued.
Culpo has since moved on with the San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey after breaking up.
