Nope Actor Wants to be Nova in the Marvel Cinematic Universe


One of the stars of Nope wants to play the character Nova in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brandon Perea took to Twitter saying that he wanted his fans to spread the word. He had an interview with Remezcla where he was asked about his career goals.

Perea was not shy with his intentions. He said that he’d love to get trotted out at Comic-Con or D23 as one of MCU’s younger heroes. For a lot of young actors, that kind of honor would end up becoming a lifelong dream. Luckily for Perea and the other actors like him, there is a reported Nova project currently in development. As of now, there’s not a lot of details regarding the project. But, the path is open and the Nope star saw his chance to play the character.

"Marvel Cinematic Universe – I need to be there," Perea said during the interview. "I hope my performance in Nope proves that I can play a Marvel superhero. That's what I want in my career – 100 percent."

With the Nova character being a popular wish list item for a lot of MCU fans, speculations on who will play the character is everywhere. Barbie star Ryan Gosling was one of the names that kept popping up regarding Nova. In an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz, Gosling had to address the rumors regarding him playing Nova in the MCU.

"I don't know anything about Nova," Gosling said during the interview. "Is that what you're going to ask me about? I don't know anything about the character?"

Miles Teller is also one of the popular fan casts for Nova. Teller revealed in an interview with ComicBook.com that he would love the honor of being in the MCU.

"I haven't heard any of those rumblings yet but I'm sure if they get loud enough, then I will hear," Teller said. "Yeah, for sure [I'd be down]. I love the fanbase. I love the Marvel and DC fanbases and I love those movies as an audience member and it seems they've taken these characters more and more seriously because the fans deserve it. There's nothing cheap about those characters and if the right thing came along I'd be open to it for sure."

Marvel Studios animation panel in SDCC 2022 will be on Friday, July 22 at 11:45 am-1:15 pm PT. A Marvel comics panel is set to be on Saturday, July 23 at 3 pm-4 pm PT, while the Marvel Studios live-action projects panel is scheduled on Saturday, July 23 at 5 pm-6 pm PT.
