It's been nearly two years since Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman succumbed to his silent battle with colon cancer and to many of his fans and peers, it's still a tough pill to swallow. No one anticipated his untimely death in August 2020 and it turns out, so did Chadwick despite learning about the diagnosis as early as 2016.

As we approach the second anniversary of Chadwick's death, new details surrounding the multi-million estate that actor left behind is coming to light. A surprising report from Shadow and Act (via Los Angeles Times) reveals that the late Marvel Cinematic Universe star never wrote a will before his passing and for two years, his widow Taylor Simone Ledward has been in charge of his $2.3 million estate.

The report also states that Ledward has appealed to the court to divide the funds equally between her and Boseman’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman. At the time of writing, Boseman's immediate family has yet to comment regarding the matter.

Chadwick's widow did the right thing and instead of keeping all of the money solely to herself, it's great that she's actually thinking about the well-being of her late husband's biological family.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is set to release Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November and while the studio and the film's actors have been tight-lipped about key details surrounding the sequel, it already promises to be the MCU's most emotional film to date. I'm pretty sure Chadwick will be watching from up there.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for release on November 11, 2022.
