The Marvel Cinematic Universe will be shaken to its very core come Phase 4 and if you've been following the current timeline and all the upcoming content Marvel Studios has in store for us, there's a good chance that you already have an idea of what's about to go down. The MCU's fourth phase will officially be kicked off by Disney+'s WandaVision and things are going to get interesting once the series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany comes to an end.

We still have no clue which character will be Phase 4's big baddie but according to a scoop from tipster Daniel Richtman (via Patreon), Wanda Maximoff could potentially be the next villain in the franchise and all of it has something to do with her messing up with the multiverse thanks to her reality-warping powers. Richtman said, "After what Scarlet Witch will do to the Multiverse, the heroes of the MCU will turn on her, which [will] lead her into a path of madness."

As much of a shocker as it'd be, Scarlet Witch has had a history of being a thorn on the side of the Avengers in the past and this drastic move has already been teased by numerous fan theories on multiple occasions. Quite frankly, I'd be down with the idea as Maximoff has always been seen in the MCU as someone who could be a massive threat. I mean, there's a good reason why in Captain America: Civil War, Tony wanted to isolate her following the tragic events that took place in Lagos, right?

It's safe to assume that all of this mayhem will ultimately lead to Maximoff transitioning from hero to villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, taking a page out of her villainous comic book run but I hope this potential change doesn't mean Scarlet Witch will eventually get killed by her teammates. After all, Olsen expressed her desire to play the character in future projects and I'm sure fans aren't ready to let go of her.

That said, WandaVision will hit Disney+ on January 15, 2021.
