New Detective Pikachu Trailer Shows ‘What a Wonderful World’ of Pokemon Would Look Like

Avengers: Endgame is no doubt going to destroy the competition in the box office when it comes out, but the first contender for the spotlight has been given to Detective Pikachu which is expected to release just a few weeks after Endgame. Now we have a new trailer set to Louie Armstrong's What a Wonderful World, and it's actually one of the more emotional previews for the movie.

The biggest sell for this movie is definitely the live-action iteration of Pokemon, so it's absolutely crucial that the movie gets this right. With the look of the world though, I think we're going to be seeing two sides of the Poke-world—one with the Pokemon in their natural environment, and one with the Pokemon co-existing in the city with humans.

I also have to say, I was having my doubts about the live Psyduck in the movie, but if you look in this new trailer, he's actually wonderfully rendered with feathers as well. This is also my speculation, but I think he's the main reason we've been getting some great music in the previews.

In a recent promo, it's been revealed that this movie's Psyduck has to listen to music to keep itself from getting headaches, so I'm guessing songs like What a Wonderful World, So Happy Together and I Need A Hero are all part of his playlist. Music was not something I was expecting to look forward to with a Pokemon movie, but if it adds another layer to the story then I'm all good.

Catch Detective Pikachu in theaters May 10.
