New DC Studios Boss' Support for Amber Heard Raises Concern About Her Firing

The DC Universe has undergone some pretty drastic changes over the last couple of days but one question still remains: is Amber Heard going to have a future in the franchise Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to rebuild? The production company has yet to address the controversial actor's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom status amid persistent calls from the fandom to have her removed.

With DC Studios ushering in a new era for the franchise, one would assume that James Gunn and Peter Safran would do what's right, at least in the eyes of many. However, Safran's apparent support for Heard is raising concern within the fandom.

Speaking with Deadline's Hero Nation podcast last year, Safran voiced his support for the Mera actress, saying that keeping her in Aquaman 2 is the best move for the entire film. "I don’t think we’re ever going to react to fan pressure. You gotta do what’s best for the movie. We felt that if it’s James Wan and Jason Momoa, it should be Amber Heard."

Safran's previous comments would resurface following his co-appointment with Gunn and naturally, it raised concern within the DCU fandom. What do you think? Will Warner Bros. Discovery actually

It's worth noting of course that the DC Studios boss' remarks came before the WB Discovery merger was even finalized. Whether or not his view on the matter has changed remains to be seen but if he still thinks it would be a good idea to keep Amber on board, then he'll have to face the wrath of the DCU fandom. Honestly, I'm more interested in hearing what Gunn has to say.
