New Batman: Arkham Game May Have Been Confirmed by Court of Owls Writer

After Batman: Arkham Knight came out in 2015, we've all been waiting for a new Batman: Arkham game ever since rumors of one from Warner Bros. Montreal was on the way. While developer Rocksteady stated that Arkham Knight was their finale for the series, Warner Bros. owns the IP and WB Montreal has experience with the franchise, thanks to Batman: Arkham Origins.

We've seen a dozen rumors about a new Batman: Arkham game but no official confirmation of one, at least until WB Montreal teased a Court of Owls game. After that, things stayed silent for a long time until the Batman 80th anniversary. WB Games Montreal had a congratulatory post for The Dark Knight's 80th anniversary and Scott Snyder, a former Batman writer and creator of The Court of Owls, essentially confirmed a new game thanks to a now-deleted tweet.

The deleted Tweet, which can be seen above thanks to fans in ResetEra, has Snyder saying "wait for it. #bewarethecourtofowls." This is awesome news since we've been dying for a new Batman: Arkham game and one that centers on The Court of Owls would garner a lot of interest since Snyder's opening arc quickly gained legendary status with fans thanks to how great it was.

It would be nice to know if this would stay in the already-established continuity of the current Batman: Arkham games or if the game is a start for a reboot. Since Rocksteady has already said goodbye to the franchise, I wouldn't mind a reboot since it would give the developers more leeway with the characters.

Expect more news on this new Batman: Arkham game soon. Batman: Arkham Knight is now available on PS4 and Xbox One, along with an HD Collection of the first two games.
