New Amsterdam Season 4 just premiered on NBC Tuesday. After being on hiatus for several months, the series is back and it will be giving its viewers a more joyful season.
Season 3 was packed with tough moments for so many characters. The mood of the show will be shifting this season to a more positive direction — full of love and hope.
New Amsterdam Season 4 will be more joyful
Ryan Eggold appeared on The Today Show where he spoke about the series. According to him, fans can expect a "joyful" season when the host mentioned the drama and lighter side of the show.
"Absolutely, that's what this season is about," Eggold explained. "You know, it's about more joy. You know we just went through this pandemic, not that it's over but last year was such a heavy year. This year, this season is about rediscovering the things that we love, care about that makes us laugh, makes us smile. Finding that joy, again, that you know, we've been missing makes everything worth."
What will happen to Dr. Goodwin in New Amsterdam Season 4?
The fourth season is meant to be a new chapter for Dr. Goodwin (Eggold). This time, he will embrace his long-held feelings for Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman).
In the trailer, the romantic connection between the two characters are very obvious. In fact, Dr. Sharpe was told that there was a "very strong vibe" between them.
She was initially in denial of her feelings for Dr. Goodwin because she is her doctor and deputy. Although it's a joyful season, there will still be drama and tension between the two.
However, it seems that Dr. Goodwin and Dr. Sharpe will eventually give in to their feelings. The official trailer shows Dr. Goodwin running and knocking at Dr. Sharpe's door. She lets him in and they kissed.
