New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6 could see Max (Ryan Eggold) and Helen (Freema Agyeman) make an important decision regarding the fate of their relationship.
In New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 5, Helen overhead Max’s conversation with Veronica (Michelle Forbes) while they were at the rooftop.
Since Veronica wants to make many changes to the hospital without considering the patients’ feelings, Max vowed not to leave New Amsterdam in his new boss’s hands.
The statement is not surprising to hear from Max because he’s dedicated to his job. In fact, he prioritizes his job and his patients more than himself or any other person in his life.
But Helen became upset when she heard this because she and Max planned to leave the hospital to start a new life in London.
Helen had been adamant about relocating to London because living there means that she would also be closer to her mom.
However, Helen also started questioning the truth that she knew about her mother. After all, some of her memories from the time that she was being sexually abused do not make much sense.
Still, Helen is determined to go to London, but she now knows that Max wouldn’t join her if she does.
Will Max, Helen Break Up In New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6?
Even though Max and Helen could have a long-distance relationship, it’s unlikely for this setup to work for the couple.
Max is already struggling to juggle his personal and professional life as it is even with Helen close to him. So, it could be an even bigger challenge for him to make a relationship work from thousands of miles away.
So, if Helen decides to go to London and Max stays in New Amsterdam, the only logical thing for the couple to do is go their separate ways.
As of late, there’s no confirmation that Agyeman will be leaving New Amsterdam Season 4. So, there’s still hope for Max to change Helen’s mind.
However, doing so could also pose problems in the couple’s relationship because Helen could blame Max if things don’t work out for her at the hospital.
Helen could also blame Max if something happens to her mom while they’re apart when she could’ve easily spent more time with her.
What Is The Plot For New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6?
NBC just dropped the official synopsis for New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6 titled Laughter and Hope and a Sock in the Eye.
“Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Malvo have a heart-to-heart with Dr. Baptiste; Max learns more about Sharpe when someone from her past resurfaces; Iggy plays referee between two patients and their families; Dr. Wilder reconsiders Max’s offer to join the staff,” the synopsis reads.
A lot of predictions can be made based on the synopsis for New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6 alone.
For instance, the person from Helen’s past that will resurface in next week’s installment could be her mom. Helen’s dad had already passed away, and information about her mom was revealed in Episode 5.
This theory also makes sense because Max will learn more about Helen’s past. And this could mean that he will also cross paths with someone from her life.
Will Dr. Reynolds, Dr. Malvo End Their Affair?
Dr. Reynolds (Jocko Sims) and Dr. Malvo (Francie Turner) have been having an affair for quite some time now. And in the previous episode, they became convinced that Dr. Baptiste (Andre Blake) knew what was going on between them.
Even though Dr. Malvo and Dr. Baptiste are in an open relationship, it’s evident that the latter is affected by the affair. After all, he removed Dr. Reynolds from some of his important surgeries.
In New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6, Dr. Baptiste’s honest thoughts and feelings about the affair will finally be revealed.

NBC just dropped the official trailer for New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6.
The 16-second clip opens with Max operating on a patient with the help of another doctor that cannot speak.
While the task on hand will be challenging, it seems Max and the other doctors at New Amsterdam are adjusting well to the pressures of working with someone who is not like them.
New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 6 will air on NBC on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 10 p.m. ET.
