Netflix Releases New Character Art and Trailer For DOTA: Dragon's Blood

Netflix's anime-style series DOTA: Dragon's Blood released a new trailer before its upcoming release. The series is based on Valve's fantasy Massive Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, which shares a similar vein to Heroes of the Storm and League of Legends.

DOTA in itself is an acronym for Defense of Ancients. The game was first released in 2003. It was a fan-developed mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, before the sequel came and became one of the most popular video games.

After dropping the teaser trailer for DOTA: Dragon's Blood, Netflix has released a new trailer and character art for the eight-episode series. The new character posters unveil some of the show's most prominent characters in their fighting stances, with their weapons drawn and magic blazing.

The gaming community is well-aware of the DOTA craze. With the new series, more people worldwide would get to know DOTA, as Netflix is about to release the series worldwide.

While DOTA 2 heavily relies on lore over a narrative plot, the trailer for the series teased that DOTA: Dragon Blood will follow Davion who is a young Dragon Knight and also one of the playable characters of the game. Davion is dedicated to wiping out the scourge of the earth. The trailer also showed an encounter with an ancient eldwurm, as well as Princess Mirana having a secret mission of her own. Davion becomes involved in events that are much bigger than he anticipated.

The series will feature veteran voice actors to bring the DOTA heroes to life. Meanwhile, Ashley Edward Miller will be serving as executive producer and showrunner. The anime will be released on Netflix on March 25.
