NCT Taeyong has simple dreams for the boy group and its members amid their success.

Amid the demand in the K-pop industry around the globe, SM Entertainment made a huge impact when it debuted NCT, or Neo Culture Technology, in 2016. After establishing the initial-13-membered Super Junior, the agency gave birth to NCT and introduced its 23 members through the group's four sub-units – NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, and NCT 2021.

Most recently, the group earned recognitions at the 21st Seoul Music Awards. The K-pop group brought home both Daesang (Grand Prize) and Bonsang (Main Award) from the ceremony.

While Taeyong and his members still have a long road to tread on, the group's leader spoke candidly about his hopes and dreams for NCT in the next coming years.

NCT Taeyong Offers Heartfelt Statement to Group

Taeyong recently graced the pages of W Korea, where he shared his thoughts about his group and personal career.

The year 2021 had been a fruitful one for them, especially since the group finally made a name on Billboard. For what it's worth, NCT 127's third studio album, Sticker arrived on the Billboard 200 at No. 3. From there, it became the longest-charting K-pop album of 2021 after ruling over the list for 17 consecutive weeks.

It became the sub-unit's greatest milestone yet, as they continue to climb after their Billboard 200 debut in 2018. As the group continues to grow, Taeyong revealed his goals moving forward.

"I always think, 'I want to protect this team for a long time.' Although I'm a leader who is lacking in different ways, along with my members, I want to show more things that only [NCT] 127 can do and with the potential that [NCT] 127 has, I want to create even more memories with fans," he said.

Taeyong admitted that the group truly achieved a lot in the past years already, but he reportedly wants to improve even more and make NCT a long-running team.

Taeyong Wants to Change Himself

Aside from working in his group, Taeyong also expressed his desire to become a better artist outside NCT.

Per the K-pop idol, he wants the songs he makes to become strength to other people. Taeyong recalled how he felt happy while giving other people the same emotion when he was still a trainee. With that, he aims to continue doing his current work before taking on a new role.

"After continuously doing this work, someday I'd like to become a concert director or choreographer and live while helping and giving direction to artists who are working while thinking similar thoughts as me," he went on.

Taeyong has already proved his capacity as an idol within a group and as a soloist, but he surely has more to offer his fans in the next few months and years.
