The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally ready to introduce Jane Foster as the new Thor and it seems like getting Natalie Portman to return for the role was fairly easy. As it turns out, the Black Swan actress just needed to sit down for a meeting with Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi.
Portman had actually missed out on the chance to work with Waititi in Thor: Ragnarok but it's clear that the What We Do In The Shadows co-director knew how to convince the actress to come back for the fourth Thor film. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed to CNN that Waititi only needed to pitch the whole 'Jane as Thor' storyline to Portman.
We shouldn't be surprised. I mean, is there anything that Waititi can't do? For now, we can thank the Jojo Rabbit director for ensuring that we're getting an all-new Thor in Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
