Ms. Marvel Production Gets Official April Start

While Marvel Studios is working on several Disney+ series that will center on familiar characters, we're going to be getting a new character introduced in her own series in the form of Kamala Khan with Ms. Marvel. Word has come out a few months ago that production was set to begin in April of next year, but now we have a more specific start date.

According to Murphy's Multiverse, Disney+'s Ms. Marvel is now eyeing a start on April 10, 2020. As it turns out, the early report of the April start actually marked pre-production with an August start date; now the source has confirmed that work on Ms. Marvel is currently ongoing, and April is when the cameras will start rolling.

While Kamala is a relatively new character to the general audience, she has been gaining popularity in the comics as the first Muslim Marvel heroine. It may be a while before we get to see Kamala on the big screen, but the Avengers game set to come out next year will actually introduce her as a playable character. What's cool is, Kamala is also the reason that the Avengers will reform in the story; making her the heart of the team.

We don't have any update as to the casting of young Kamala Khan, but hopefully, they find the right person for the role. Fingers crossed she gets to interact with Spider-Man, seeing as Kamala is also known for being a youngster, and Peter Parker needs some other heroes in his age range.

No release date has been set for Ms. Marvel, but The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set for a release in the fall of 2020.
