It is a wrap for the filming of one of the Disney+ shows in line for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel finishes shooting all its scenes in Thailand. A fan-favorite comic character who debuted in 2013, Ms. Marvel will be having her very own series in MCU's 2021 slate along with Hawkeye and What If..?

The debut of Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan will be a door of diversity and representation in the MCU as Marvel's first mainstream Muslim superhero. The series will be directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and penned by Bisha K. Ali.

Set in the MCU, Kamala Khan is a 16-year-old Muslim Pakistani-American attending school in New Jersey who struggles to fit in. She is a huge fan of Captain Marvel and she pens superhero fan fiction. One fateful day, she gets superpowers opening her an opportunity to be like her idols.

Right after the series, Kamala Khan is expected to be back sooner in the MCU in The Marvels a.k.a. Captain Marvel 2 along with Captain Marvel/ Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). The film is expected to showcase the various Marvels of the MCU altogether.

Rumors, however, have been circulating that Brie Larson will be making an early exit in the MCU which could lead to her character passing the baton to either Monica, who donned the same title in the comics, or to Kamala.

Iman Vellani will be portraying Ms. Marvel/ Kamala Khan and will be joined by Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, and Laura Marsden. Reportedly, they would also be joined by Farhan Akhtar as well.

Ms. Marvel is expected to be released in late 2021 on Disney+.
