Meta recently rolled out an online chatbot app while utilizing AI technology, where users can interact with their preferred celebrities on multiple social media platforms. That said, here's why the most popular AI celebrity chatbots on Meta are weird.

Meta Launches AI Celebrity Chatbots

In September last year, Meta AI launched a brand-new AI experience across social media apps such as Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

Meta not only generates photorealistic images for any AI prompts for users within the U.S., but can also interact with 28 more AI chatbots based on prominent pop culture icons and influencers such as Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, Kendall Jenner, and more.

While U.S. users can interact with various celebrities, there's a catch. These chatbots are not and do not accurately portray the original actors and influencers, but for good reason. Here's why.

The utilization of Artificial Intelligence has its advantages and disadvantages. In this case, Meta only hopes to expand the entertainment aspect for consumers by chatting with chatbots which are the near-image of celebrities.

However, what makes this dangerous is potentially exploiting these idols using their AI counterparts for malicious reasons without their consent.

It is worth mentioning though that Meta AI tweaked the AI bots. The celebrities who agreed to get paid as much as $5 Million for lending their faces to the chatbots are not the people operating behind your chat history.

See, while these chatbots have the faces of celebrities, their online personas do not possess the same biography.

For example, the Snoop Dogg chatbot is not the same rapper we see on television but rather works as a "humble Dungeon Master" across social media platforms. As the bot corrected, he is "not a musician or songwriter."

There's also Bru, aka based on former NFL player Tom Brady, who is still married, despite having already been divorced in real life.

Think of their chatbots as actors playing roles on the app, whose knowledge and experience are limited to their given prompts.

Take the Billie AI chatbot as an example. The bot uses Kendall Jenner's face as your ride-or-die companion, whom users could treat as an online best friend, without accidentally leaking confidential information or details about the influencer's personal life.
