To clarify, what's more, accurate to call what is arriving in a few days is Part 2 of Season 1 and it will be started with the 12th episode. What is upcoming is Moriarty the Patriot Season 1 Part 2 Episode 12.

Confused as to why it is a Part 2 Season1 and not a Season 2? Don't be. That is because the series is still on its first season. The first season has listed 24 episodes all in all. Only 11 episodes made it to the first half.

This is because the anime series is a split-cour. A split-cour divides the anime series into two where the first half would have around ten to thirteen episodes before having a three-month TV broadcast block where the series would go on a break before resuming to the other half.

In the case of Moriarty the Patriot, the anime series had its first eleven episodes for the first cour before the three-month break. It will be returning this Spring for the second part of the cour starting with Episode 12.

Moriarty the Patriot is from the pages of the Japanese shōnen manga of the same name where Ryōsuke Takeuchi is the writer and Hikaru Miyoshi is the illustrator. The manga series is being published by Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Jump Square since 2016 and is compiled in thirteen tankōbon volumes to date. The English manga version is licensed by Viz Media.

It is based on the story of the youth of the nemesis of Sherlock, the math prodigy, William James Moriarty. The story is set in the late 19th century where the British Empire holds much of the global power and there exists a strict class dominance as an average person has such a slim chance of becoming successful and on top, the noblest of them all seems to hold the power.

William James is one of the two orphans adopted by the family of Albert Moriarty along with Louis James and William learns about the common hate they had for the British nobleman that William calls himself to be a "crime consultant."

Both William and Albert planned out a scheme where they take down the cruel brother of Albert, who also happens to be another William, burn down the estate of the family, and start their life over despite the use of illegal means just so they could destroy the class system that has been in the society for centuries.

While William James Moriarty plots his scheme of murdering noblemen hunting commoners, he encountered Sherlock, a bright man who is great in deducting murders and knowing that it was involving third parties. Because of this, Moriarty gets interested in Sherlock and tries to lead him to be framed in a murder to be able to fully test his deducting abilities.

So far, in what has already happened in the anime series, it is an intense battle of wits between Moriarty and Sherlock. The first part of the cour established the childhood of Moriarty and how he came about with his gray moral code. By the time Season 1 is in its mid-season, Sherlock adds color to the story and Moriarty's wits are put to a stand-off with him.

The two-part finale of Moriarty the Patriot gave the viewers how the intelligence of both Moriarty and Sherlock were put to a test as they solve a murder and whoever gets it first. This provides the viewers with the flaws that Sherlock has as a person who solves crimes and how the two of them established respect between each other.
