Moon Knight Takes Home an Emmy Award for Best Sound Editing

Moon Knight received eight nominations at this year's Emmy Awards with all of them being in craft categories in addition to F. Murray Abraham's stellar voice-over performance as Khonshu. Fortunately, unlike the other MCU live-action shows that are also contending, it managed to snag a trophy.

In the recent Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony, Moon Knight won the Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special award, its only win during the night. It was able to defeat other shows such as American Horror Story: Double Feature, Gaslit, Midnight Mass, and Station Eleven.

As a result, Moon Knight became the only MCU live-action series this year that managed to take home an Emmy Award. Loki also received six nominations while Hawkeye snagged two although neither of them was able to take home a trophy during the ceremony.

The only other MCU project that snagged a win is the animated series What If...? for Chadwick Boseman's posthumous victory in the Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance category where Abraham was also nominated for Moon Knight.

The series also received nominations for its cinematography, costumes, music composition, sound mixing, stunt coordination, and stunt performance. However, they lost to shows such as Dopesick, What We Do in the Shadows, The White Lotus, and Stranger Things.

Unfortunately, the series is not contending in the main ceremony this coming September 12 as it failed to receive nominations in any of the major categories. However, its star Oscar Isaac is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for his work in the HBO series Scene from a Marriage.
