Moon Knight Star Ethan Hawke Cast as Batman in New DC Series

Ethan Hawke is making the big leap from one comic book franchise to another. The Moon Knight star has just been confirmed as the new Batman in an upcoming animated series.

Hawke has been confirmed to play Batman in Batwheels, an animated series that will focus on anthropomorphized Bat-vehicles and a sentient Bat-computer. The new show, which is aimed at pre-schoolers, will also feature human heroes including the Caped Crusader, Duke Thomas aka Robin, and Cassandra Cain aka Batgirl.

It's a great role for Hawke considering that he's already playing a Marvel baddie in Moon Knight. Being part of two very different comic book projects is pretty cool and we can't wait to see what Hawke can do in the MCU series and the DC animated show.

Batwheels will also star Jacob Bertrand as Bam, the Batmobile, Jordan Reed as Redbird, Robin's sports car, Madigan Kacmar as Bibi, Batgirl's motorcycle, Noah Bentley as Buff, a monster truck, Lilimar as Batwing, Kimberly D. Brooks as The Batcomputer and Mick Wingert as Moe, Batman's robot repairman.

AJ Hudson has been confirmed to provide the voice of Robin while Leah Lewis was cast as Batgirl. The heroes, along with Hawke's Batman, are the only human characters confirmed of the series so far. The villains have not yet been announced.

Batwheels is expected to air on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. The animated show has not yet been given an official production start date nor a release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
