Here’s What Happened Before Gundam: Witch from Mercury Episode 16
Episode 16, titled Father and Child, opened with Guel Jeturk refusing to eat as he continued to be a Dawn of Fold prisoner.
Meanwhile, the Benerit Group’s garrison was cracking down on the Dawn of Fold following the Plant Quetta incident.
Dawn of Fold decided to escape from its existing base and evacuate the refugees to a safer location.
At Asticassia, Sarius and Nika were kept as prisoners by the Grassley House.
During the episode, Norea tortured Nika and blamed her for Sophie's death.
On the other hand, Shaddiq revealed that he wanted to sell the assets of the Benerit Group in order to reduce the power imbalance between Spacians and Earthians.
Back on Earth, Naji, the Dawn of Fold leader, led the evacuation mission. Meanwhile, Naji’s lieutenant Olcott was charged to distract the attackers.
Before joining the Dawn of Fold, Olcott was a member of Cathedra’s Dominicus squad but changed sides after his son’s tragic death.
Olcott and his team fought hard against Benerit Group’s warriors but they lost several team members.
Elsewhere, Guel managed to escape and attempted to save a girl whose father died in a battle against Spacians.
Unfortunately, the girl was caught in the crossfire and died in Guel’s arms. Later, Olcott let Guel escape.
Guel vowed to head back to space and revive his father’s dying company.
Toward the end of the episode, Miorine met with her father Delling’s aide, Rajan Zahi, and asked him about Quiet Zero.
He revealed that it was first proposed by her mother, Notrette.
Meanwhile, Miorine expressed her displeasure about her father setting up the marriage game.
She told Rajan that her father believed that in order to ensure her safety, it was best to marry her off to someone powerful.
Rajan stated that Delling intended to fulfill Notrette’s vow and he was ready to use the Gundams he buried.
However, Rajan told Miorine that her life is hers to lead and that she was not her father. He advised her to follow her own heart.
