While having breakfast, Ilulu and Kanna talk about the upcoming summer festival. On her way home from work, Kobayashi sees Tohru helping put up lights by the street. Kobayashi has given a lot of thought to Tohru's current state. She noticed how Tohru has perfectly blended in with the people in their town, making friends and helping out. Kobayashi thinks this is relatively easy for Tohru because she is a powerful dragon, after all. At the same time, Kobayashi questions whether she's worthy of Tohru's affection. She's also been feeling a bit lonely since Tohru's full attention isn't always on her anymore.

Almost everyone is present at the summer festival. Kobayashi, Ilulu, Kanna, and Elma are walking around. Elma's attention is focused on trying on all the different types of food. The group splits up—Kanna goes to Saikawa, Ilulu goes to Take. Lucoa and Shōta meet up with Kobayashi and Elma. The dragons start talking about festivals in their world, leaving Kobayashi out of the conversation.

Saikawa tells Kanna that they should go to the festival again next year and every year until they become grandmothers. Kanna tells her to live a long life. Ilulu and Take are at one of the stalls with a shooting game. Take notices that Ilulu both acts mature and like a kid most of the time. She shares that she was told she had to act like an adult, but Kobayashi told her it's fine to be a kid again.

Kobayashi asks Shōta if she likes Lucoa by asking how he would react to seeing Lucoa get close to his classmates. He gets flustered. Kobayashi leaves the group to meet Tohru, who's finished at the maid cafe's stall. The two of them take a walk around the festival. Kobayashi starts talking about how great and powerful of a dragon Tohru is and how sociable she can get around humans, which Kobayashi finds admirable. As such, she wonders again whether she's worthy of Tohru's affection.

Kobayashi says she's content with their current situation, regardless of how troublesome it may get. When she asks what Tohru feels about it, she simply says she loves Kobayashi. She explains how Kobayashi saved her, in which Kobayashi thinks she's being given too much credit. This is definitely a significant development in their relationship, considering how Kobayashi wasn't quite as vocal about it as before.

Lucoa invites everyone to a flower viewing in the middle of summer. She says that she knows someone whose flesh turns into flowers, which look like cherry blossoms. Tohru volunteers to host the event. They do various activities, such as arm wrestling. The final event, to everyone's surprise, is a supposed wedding ceremony that Tohru planned. Kobayashi calls Tohru an idiot and runs off. The rest of the group also runs to rescue Kobayashi.
